The Fife Arms Wax Seal Stamp Kit
Wax seals have been used since Roman times to ensure that the contents of a letter remained private. With this solid brass thistle stamp, you can seal your hand-written letter with a Scottish flourish. The stamp is mounted on a hand-turned handle made from sustainably sourced Highland timber – mostly windfall harvested after winter storms – by Andy Walters, a master of the ancient craft of wood turning.
The kit includes three wax sticks.

Growing up on the edge of the Pennines, Andy Walters developed a love of beauty and adventure alongside an energy to design and create. After an early career in Engineering, he moved with his new wife Rebecca to the Highlands where he first built a house for his young family and then created Black Isle Woodturning, driven by his passion for sustainability, quality workmanship and the preservation of traditional craft.
A member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen, Andy combines traditional methods with modern technology, seeking to preserve the ancient skill of woodturning while providing precise, creative, quality pieces. His timber is local and sustainably sourced – much of it is windfall, a bounty of the severe storms that ravage the Highlands. The waste products from his workshops, including off-cuts, shavings, chippings and sawdust, are collected, stored and used to heat the workshop through the winter months.
