Design a Custom Dress Sporran with Monty Lewis
A custom sporran – designed with the wearer in mind – is a unique gift.
Receiving this box will take the recipient on a journey to create their very own sporran. Using inspiration from family history or favourite colours, Monty Lewis will work with them to create a personal design.
Each gift box contains a voucher for a custom sporran and everything needed to begin the custom design process. It includes a short history of sporrans, description of the stages involved and some examples of what can be expected from the completed design.
The finished sporran will be truly an heirloom piece – to be worn, enjoyed and admired but also treasured and perhaps passed down through generations.

MORE ABOUT
Monty Lewis
From an early age, Monty was fascinated by all things Scottish. As a child, he would wear a kilt every Sunday to church, despite living in Sussex, and he greatly admired the sporrans on display at the Highland balls he attended as a teenager. His decision to make his own sporran was the beginning of a journey that has seen him learn many of the different crafts involved in making these intricate creations.
Sporran making is a highly skilled activity, bringing together a unique combination of techniques – including working with leather, horn, metal and horsehair. He has recently added silverwork to his list of accomplishments, having been awarded a QEST scholarship to support his training in engraving and silversmithing. He also collaborates with a number of specialist artisans, such as tassel makers and embroiderers. As the son of the founder of the famous ribbons and trimmings shop VV Rouleaux, he has a deep love of embellishment.
He has created a collection of sporrans that has revived the tradition of this flamboyant Scottish accessory, while adding to each design a contemporary edge.
