Bertie's Whisky Bar Porcelain Vide Poche

Bertie’s Whisky Bar is the newest addition to The Fife Arm’s extraordinary reception rooms. It is a sumptuously elegant bar inspired by Queen Victoria’s eldest son, King Edward VII (known as ‘Bertie’), a famously extravagant bon viveur with a love of opulence and the wonders of the world. The bar is arranged as a dark and atmospheric library, with 365 whiskies – one for each day of the year – arranged like books on the shelves. But these whisky ‘books’ glow with life – each is illuminated from behind, casting an inviting amber glow into the room. The result is a space that is dramatic and extravagant yet intimate. It promises nights to remember.

This porcelain ash tray – featuring the bust of the original Bertie in profile – is the perfect memento. Use it to store keys, cuff-links or other dressing-table accessories, and to bring back memories of heady Highland nights.

Bertie's Whisky Bar

Bertie’s Whisky Bar is the newest addition to The Fife Arms’ suite of extraordinary reception rooms. It is named in honour of Queen Victoria’s eldest son, King Edward VII – also known as ‘Bertie’ – an extravagant bon viveur and lover of opulence and excess. There is no ‘bar’ at Bertie’s, rather a library of whisky bottles, all backlit to create an inviting amber glow throughout the room. Guests are encouraged to discover, wander and browse – just as they would in a conventional library – with bartenders to answer their questions and make suggestions. There are 365 whiskies – one for each day of the year – arranged by flavour profile: fragrant, fruity, rich and smoky. This is the perfect place to hole up on dark Highland nights.
