The Fife Arms Hand-Turned and Hand-Painted Large Wooden Egg

A statement piece for Easter. Our Bonnie Botanical Hare wooden egg is hand-painted and displayed on its own stand. Both egg and stand have been hand turned by Andy Walters of Black Isle Woodturning from sustainably sourced storm-fallen Highland birch and beech timber that has been air dried over a number of years.

They have been painted by Clare Therese Gray, an illustrator who specialises in drawing and painting the natural world, with a design that incorporates Scottish flora alongside a Highland hare. She has used a palette drawn from the landscape surrounding the Fife Arms.

The egg and its stand are presented in a reusable FSC-certified green presentation box, embossed in gold with the Fife Arm’s crest.

Andy Walters & Clare Therese Gray

Andy Walters established Black Isle Woodturning out of his passion for sustainability, quality workmanship and the preservation of this traditional craft. His timber is local and sustainably sourced – much of it is windfall, a bounty of the storms that ravage the Highlands.

Clare Therese Gray is an author and illustrator. She lives on a farm with her husband and young family, and is constantly inspired by her rural surroundings. Having trained at the Royal Drawing School, she established her freelance design career, creating artworks for textiles, paper craft, fabric and homewares. Drawing and painting the natural world is always her starting point.
